Jennifer Freind, Church Secretary

Jennifer came to Valley View in February, 1998. Before coming to Valley View she worked at BellSouth for 19 years. She is a member at Leeds First United Methodist Church and helps with the children’s choir. She and her husband Ross married in May of 1979 and have 2 grown children. Jennifer enjoys reading, bike riding, college sports and spending time with her grandchildren, River and Piper.

David Duke, Interim Worship Leader

 

 David Duke is a lifelong member of Valley View Baptist Church. He studied music at Sanford University, where he was a member of the Marching Bulldog Band and sang with the University Chorale. He was also a member of the professional music fraternity Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He has served as Minister of Music at Eastaboga Baptist Church and has led music at several churches in the Birmingham area. He is currently serving as the Interim Worship Leader at Valley View.

Children and their families are a high priority at Valley View Baptist. The preschool & children's ministries have been designed to excite and challenge children about who God is and how God can affect their lives. In addition to Sunday school, we minister to our children through a number of groups/activities to aid in their growth:  

 MISSION FRIENDS

  • The preschool missions organization of The WMU.
  • For preschoolers, birth through kindergarten.
  • Preschoolers become aware of God’s love, and they learn that others need to hear this good news !
  • Preschoolers are involved in learning, praying, giving and doing missions!

 TEAMKIDS

  • A grade school missions organization.
  • For elementary and middle schoolers.
  • The mission of Team Kids is to strengthen community collaborations that empower young people to be responsible, resilient citizens with a passion for service

 VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

  • A grade school summer church outreach.
  • For preschool and elementary kids.
  • The mission of VBS is to get kids involved in purposeful activities during the summer and a way to bring their friends into a fun non-threatening environment.

  • A church ministry to and for kids.
  • For grade schoolers 1st - 4th grades.
  • The mission of Children's Church is to get kids involved in Bible study and activities relating to the days teaching to aid in growth and maturity on their level, after participating in worship in the sanctuary with the main church body/adults.
